Coffee vs. Wine: What goes better with books?

coffeecottagelogoWhat kind of reader-drinker are you?

Are you a curl-up-with-a-cup-of-coffee reader, or a lean-back-with-a-glass-of-pinot-noir type of reader?

Good news:  When you travel into Oregon’s fabulous Willamette Valley, famous for its pinot noirs and chardonnays, you don’t have to choose.

The Coffee Cottage on 808 E. Hancock St. in Newberg is both a great coffee shop and a great local, independent bookstore, with a prominently-located shelf dedicated to a selection of Northwest authors.

On Wednesday, August 24, I’ll take up residence from 4-7 PM to meet and greet, sign books, answer questions, and probably sample the coffee and great food offered at The Coffee Cottage. Both Lying in Judgment and The Mountain Man’s Dog are currently on sale and will be available at the signing.

The truly adventurous might make a day of it and visit a few of the amazing wineries in Newberg. I would by lying if I said I wasn’t tempted.

Since both books take place in Oregon and feature Oregon-born main characters, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we have a sighting of either Lehigh Carter or Peter Robertson. Or maybe Stacy and Christine?

Maybe I should just bring the dog?

Come visit the store on Wednesday and find out.

(If you can’t make it on Wednesday, stop by another time and pick up a book or two. The Local Author shelf is right by the front door.)
